Yoga Sculpt teachers can use this book to build and organize transformational classes and keep a record of classes using the class index.

Each class is divided into seven sections:

Warmup and Sun A’s: This section is like a warmup for a vinyasa or hatha yoga class. I am warming up the body with a few postures to move the spine in all directions (front, back, side to side, and twisting) and setting intentions for the practice and teaching breathing techniques.Sun B flow sequence: Sun B flow sequence is used to warm up and to teach the yoga postures that will come back in section 4 (Sun B flow sculpt). This sequence can be performed one time slowly, holding poses as instructed. Or- One time slow and then repeated faster with breath-connected movement. Please keep it simple! It is best to leave this section simple.Top of mat sculpt: This section is the introduction to the hand-held weights and comprises exercises with weights (3 to 5 lb. dumbells – although other weights and props like bands and balls can be used). For example, Squats with a shoulder press or chair pose with tricep kickbacks are performed in this section. The Top of the mat sculpt section is also an excellent place to get the heart rate up by adding a cardio segment. For example, Jump squats or use sliders during Sun A. After this section, have students go through a vinyasa (Sun A) to prepare for #4 and ready to get them into your #4 start posture (downward facing dog).Sun B Flow Sculpt: (Based on #2): With the Sun B flow sequence you created, add combination exercises to the postures introduced in #2. Write this section and then evaluate the muscles used to decide if activities need to be changed to balance out the practice. Optionally before going to the other side, repeat Section.Core Section: The Core section is dedicated to core and abdominal work. Building strength and awareness of your students’ core and abdominal muscles and safe, focused exercises. Belly up or belly down (plank) or a little bit of everything.Mat work: After section #5, go into mat work comprising of exercises like bridge lifts with weights at the hip crease and then moving weights into hands for more arm work. Work here can balance out the practice and is the last work before the warm-down section #3. Warm down and Savasana: Final stretch for hamstrings, hips, shoulders, and Final posture/savasana. This section can include visualization, meditation, and breathwork.
